Michele Centeno joins Lockton in Florida

Industry veteran furthers professional and financial services expertise to company

FORT LAUDERDALE (Jan. 7, 2021) – Lockton Companies, the world’s largest independent insurance broker, is pleased to announce that Michele Centeno has joined the company as Senior Vice President. In her role, Centeno will further expand Lockton’s expertise and client service solutions in the professional and financial services industry.

“To put it simply, Michele is a powerhouse in our industry,” said Doug Hutcherson, CEO of Lockton’s Southeast region. “She is known for her client-centric approach and successful track record of client satisfaction across various industries. Her vast experience and knowledge of risk management will be invaluable assets to our clients and partners.”

Centeno has 30 years of experience as a broker and underwriter in the insurance industry. She joins Lockton from Gallagher, where she led a team delivering innovative risk transfer solutions to Fortune 500-1000 companies. She has extensive experience with large complex risks and specializes in directors & officers (D&O) liability, reps and warranty, and tax liability policies. She began her brokerage career at Marsh where she served as Southeast Practice Leader for FINPRO.

Centeno is a distinguished leader and has built a reputation for providing superior levels of service to her clients. She was named as a Power Broker by Risk & Insurance Magazine in 2017, 2018, and 2020 as well as a Top Producer and Elite Woman in Insurance by Insurance Business. In addition to her work in brokerage, Centeno actively gives back to the industry and local community. She served as a board member and Vice Chair of Women in Leadership for South Florida Urban Land Institute (ULI), a board member for a religious charity, and has established a no-kill dog shelter.
