Lockton Kansas City expands leadership team to support industry leading revenue growth

KANSAS CITY, Mo., June 20, 2019 – Following another year of industry leading revenue, Lockton’s Kansas City operation is expanding its leadership team to support its extraordinary growth.

Rob Sprague has been named president of the Kansas City property and casualty insurance operation and Mark Moreland its chief operating officer.

Moreland succeeds Mark Henderson, a 40-year industry veteran who is retiring at the end of 2019 after 18 years at Lockton.

“We are grateful for the many contributions Mark has made to our Associates, clients and communities for nearly two decades,” said Joe Agnello, president and CEO of Lockton Kansas City which also includes offices in Minneapolis and Omaha. “We wish him and his family all the best as they begin their next chapter.”

Sprague has spent his entire career in the insurance industry on both the carrier and broker sides. He joined Lockton’s Kansas City operation in 2002 as a client advocate. He is a member of the Lockton Kansas City executive committee and a graduate of the University of Missouri, undergraduate and law school.

Moreland brings 25 years of industry expertise and experience to his new role. He most recently led the strategic consulting practice group for Lockton Management where he helped Lockton earn its global reputation for providing strategic advice. Moreland is a graduate of the University of Kansas where he also received an MBA.  

To support further growth, Sprague and Moreland will work closely with a new and diverse leadership team in Kansas City. The following have been named to new roles.

  • Brian Roberts, senior vice president, director of operations
  • Lauren Houts, vice president, director of client engagement
  • Casey Williamson, vice president, director of finance
  • Sara Prochaska, assistant vice president, director of communications and community relations

“It’s time to build a larger and more diverse team to support our outstanding growth,” said Agnello. “With more voices at the table, my excitement and optimism about Lockton and the Kansas City operation have never been greater.”

The team will work alongside Tim Meacham, COO of Lockton's Kansas City benefits operation, to support all of Kansas City’s continued growth.

The Kansas City operation posted revenues of $254.9 million in the 2019 fiscal year, an 8.4% increase over the previous year.
