Lockton adds personal lines expert to help successful families protect their most valuable assets

Photo of Jen MeyerMINNEAPOLIS, March 19, 2019 – Jen Meyer joins Lockton’s Signature Client Group (SGC) in the Minneapolis office. SCG Minneapolis provides personal insurance solutions for high net worth (HNW) individuals and their families across the Midwest.

“We are excited to welcome Jen to our SCG team, as she will play a key role in our growth initiative in the high net worth space,” said Joe Agnello, CEO of Lockton’s Kansas City Series, which includes Omaha and Minneapolis. “Jen’s technical expertise and dedication to client service will drive value for her clients, thus generating long-lasting loyal relationships. Meyer’s career spans 15 years in commercial and personal lines in the Twin Cities area.  From her start in a property claims office, Meyer advanced through a variety of roles in both sales and service before moving into private client consulting, where she found she could have the most impact. 

Signature clients trust Lockton to help them identify and manage their unique risks across a wide range of holdings. With a technical background, and experience working with a number of our nation’s premiere insurance carriers, Meyer designs customized insurance programs that meet her clients’ need and keep pace with their changing lifestyles.

To Meyer, personal insurance is a personal business. She knows that trust is key to ensuring clients and families feel empowered to make a strategic decision about how to spend their premium dollars.  She works closely with her families to develop a thorough analysis of their unique personal risk profile and risk management needs. Her ultimate goal is to give clients lasting peace of mind.

She gave one such client peace of mind when they purchased a secondary property adjacent to the one the family already owned. Their broker at the time indicated it would be automatically included and insured within their current program, but upon further review, Meyer found that was not the case. With her expertise, they were able to determine the property was indeed uninsured, secured coverage immediately, and included the location in the excess liability policy.  Later that year, the client suffered a weather-related loss at the secondary home, which would have been excluded previously had the client listened to their former broker. 

“I think this is something that has been missing in the Twin Cities market, having a broker of this caliber, with an in-house signature client specialist,” said Meyer. “I’m answering the need for a female HNW insurance producer in this region who can paint a clear picture of the risk exposures families face each day, while continuing to partner with advisers who demonstrate real value by incorporating risk management into their overall value proposition.”

Meyer studied business and marketing at Winona State University. She is a member of the Private Risk Management Association and is a Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR).
