Upcoming key compliance deadlines and reminders for second quarter 2020

As our country reacts and adapts to a “new normal” amid the COVID-19 pandemic, employers are dealing with unique questions and challenges in droves. Still though, reporting and disclosure obligations wait on no person (although some are now being deferred; see below), and plan sponsors should be aware of upcoming reporting and disclosure responsibilities.

For calendar-year and non-calendar-year plan sponsors alike, here are a handful of compliance-related items that may need attention in the second calendar quarter. We have included here several key deadlines and select state or local deadlines, but not every potential deadline is reflected here. At the time this notice went to press we were still waiting to see if the IRS would defer ACA reporting deadlines, as it has for personal income tax filings.
