The Equifax Breach - Guidance for Consumers and Businesses
Hero Image

The massive data breach at Equifax, one of the big three credit reporting agencies, could expose confidential personal information on more than 143 million consumers in the US, Canada and the UK. What you may not know is that Equifax also offers a number of services to businesses. Companies doing business with Equifax may have provided them with confidential information on employees and customers. While we don’t know if any of these services were affected by the breach, there are certain steps that our clients and their employees should take to protect themselves and preserve any potential insurance coverage they may have for the fallout from this event.

Read Lockton’s guidance for consumers and businesses that explains what we know so far about the breach and appropriate steps to take and resources available for potentially affected individuals and companies. Contact Lockton’s Cyber Technology Practice for more information and assistance in addressing the insurance implications of this incident.
