Reminder: Calendar Year Health Plans Must Complete Online CMS Disclosure by March 1, 2017

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) have required disclosure of prescription drug coverage from employers for several years. The standard qualifier has been to offer equal or better coverage than Medicare Part D’s prescription drug benefit. If health plan sponsors meet or exceed this requirement, they are “creditable,” however, should plans offer less than this coverage, they are “noncreditable.” Lockton Benefit Group’s Compliance Services has released an Alert detailing instructions, exemptions and guidance in regard to this filing requirement.
