Two Cities Contemplate Moving Retirees to Public Exchanges

What are the implications?

Both Detroit and Chicago have proposed to shift city-employee retirees onto public insurance exchanges next year. While saving the cities millions of dollars, it would almost certainly place many older, less healthy people on the exchanges. Lockton's co-director of Compliance Services, senior vice president Ed Fensholt, J.D. was asked to comment on the topic in the lead story in this issue of AIS's Health Reform Week.
