Mental Health Parity Rules: Updated for 2015

It was a simple goal: to make health plan benefits for one group of conditions at least as generous as the plan's benefits for other conditions. That's what the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA) generally requires for health plans' mental health and substance abuse disorder benefits. Turns out it's not so simple to do. Federal regulators first proved this in 2010 when they issued interim final MHPAEA regulations; now, new final regulations have managed to increase the complexity. See this Compliance Alert from Lockton's Senior Vice President, Director of Compliance Services, Mark Holloway to learn how the updated rules could impact your business.
