White Paper / Retirement
Linking Retirement, Stress, Health, and Productivity

Lockton Retirement Services surveyed more than 600 individuals to understand the causes of financial stress, its impact on productivity at work, and the benefit, if any, of having a retirement plan. The results were surprising:

  • 1 in 5 people are extremely stressed by their financial situation.
  • Highly stressed workers are 2 times as likely to call in sick when they are not ill.
  • Highly stressed workers are 3 times as likely to use prescription drugs for chronic ailments.
  • 95% of people said having a retirement plan helps their stress at least somewhat.
  • But 85% of people have either an unrealistic, or no, idea of what their retirement savings target should be.

The attached white paper provides all of the details. You can also watch a replay of a recent webinar Lockton experts conducted on the topic in conjunction with Bloomberg BNA.
