Innovation the ‘Silver Bullet’ for Singapore Advancement

Peter Jackson, CEO of Lockton Singapore, looks at common deterrents to developing innovation within an organization in a recent article for the Singapore Business Review.

In the article, Jackson notes that new ideas can be challenging to implement internally simply because it is far easier to stay with what has already been tried and found successful.

“After all, innovation can be messy, frightening, threatening, challenging, and risky,” said Jackson. “It is far more comfortable to rely on the things that always succeed.”

Referring to innovation as the “silver bullet” for advancing Singapore as a social hub, he encourages businesses to face five basic fears and use them to move forward.
