HHS Finalizes HIPAA Privacy and Data Security Rules

Department of Health and Human Services has issued regulations that incorporate legislative changes to HIPAA privacy and data security rules from 2009's HITECH Act, as well as 2008's Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act. These changes apply to healthcare providers, but also impact employer group health plans.
