Despite Lawsuits, Texas Employers Still Opting Out of Work Comp

Despite the possibility of being sued by injured employees, the appetite for Texas employers to opt out of the workers' compensation system remains steady. According to Keith Rosenblum, Senior Risk Consultant, one way to balance that risk is to create strong safety programs and provide fast access to doctors for injured workers.

“That tends to limit the exposure, but also sends a very positive signal to the family of the injured worker that the employer is there to help,” Mr. Rosenblum said in a recent article in Business Insurance magazine.
