Are Distracted Driving Policies Working?

Despite public awareness and state laws banning the use of cell phones while driving, people are still refusing to put their devices down while behind the wheel. In 2015 alone, more than 3,000 people were killed in accidents involving a distracted driver.  While employers have instituted policies to prevent this epidemic, the effects have been minimal.

“Most companies have distracted driving policies; the challenge is going further than that,” said Michael Davis, Risk Control Practice Leader in Lockton’s Houston office.
