History of Classic Car
Classic Car became an integral part of Alexander Forbes (which was acquired by Lockton
in 2006), after we acquired Alfred Blackmore Group Ltd, in March 2001. The Classic
Car division was itself acquired by Alfred Blackmore in 1997 after the group bought
Sussex based broker Norman Tremellen & Co.
Norman Tremellen & Co was a well-known Lloyd's broker, which was incorporated in
1924. The firm was best known for motor insurance with sixty five per cent of its
business coming from this class. They had strong links with numerous motoring organisations
and provided insurance services to national vintage and classic car club members.
Lockton Companies International Limited has been proud to continue to develop the
long-standing relationships developed by Norman Tremellen with such organisations
as the
Aston Martin Owners' Club and the Citroën Car Club.
The Classic Car division is now based in the London offices of Lockton Companies
International Limited but still employs the experienced and dedicated Norman Tremellen
and Alfred Blackmore teams, as well as a few new skilled members.
The Classic Car Division is now a growing and respected division of Lockton Companies
International Limited, providing a personal and flexible service to all of its clients.
