Insurance Cover Including Electrical and Mechanical Breakdown for Powered Wheelchairs or Scooters
We offer two types of policies, this depends if the machine to be insured is a New or used/second hand machine. The following products can be purchased online and we have exclusive prices on selected policies plus extra month’s free cover.
The policies provide cover for;
- accidental damage, fire, theft and vandalism
- electrical and mechanical breakdown (excluding batteries, bulbs and brake linings, any breakdown already covered by a manufacturers warranty)
- third party personal injury or damage to a third party property caused by you, your carer or personal assistant whilst using the insured machine.
Advance Warranty Premier Policy
This product is available for brand new powered wheelchairs or scooters you have the option to buy a two, three or four year policy.
Advance Warranty Plus Policy
Available for powered machines aged up to six year old and cover is purchased on an annual basis.
Top tips for purchasing a second hand scooter
Purchasing online is subject to the following;
- the value of the machine to be insured does not exceed £7,000
- maximum speed of the machine does not exceed 8 miles per hour
- the machine is kept in suitable locked accommodation overnight such as ie a building, shed or car
- the model of machine is not a Shoprider Traveso
