Helpful Hints On How To Spot Earthquake Damage It's not hard to recognize major earthquake damage: buildings reduced to a pile of rubble, collapsed bridges, mobile homes tossed off their pilings. What Is Richter Magnitude? Seismologists use a Magnitude scale to express the seismic energy released by each earthquake.
