Lockton Joins "Hall of Champions" of KC Businesses

(Kansas City, MO) - 18 May 2012 - Lockton Companies, the world's largest privately held insurance broker, has been named one of 15 "Champions of Business" by the Kansas City Business Journal.  The annual program recognizes companies for sustained excellence in innovation, growth and community involvement. Additionally, KCBJ added Lockton to its Hall of Champions, for companies that have been honored three years.

The Champions of Business award winners were honored at a May 18^th ceremony. Rick Kahle, President of Lockton's Kansas City Employee Benefits operation, accepted the award for Lockton at a May 18 ceremony.

“Taking great care of our customers, finding great Associates and being meaningfully involved in the community,” Rick Kahle said, "is what the Lockton philosophy encompasses."

The honor focused, in part, on the service Lockton provides clients in risk management and employee benefits.

Sara Kircher, vice president of human resources at Waddell & Reed Financial Inc., attested to that. Kircher says that Lockton continues to help her team stay up-to-date with the latest news in health care. Lockton recently helped the company switch to a new wellness program.

“We feel like we were a little bit ahead of the curve,” Kircher said. “These are resources that you don’t get with other consultants or brokers.”

Lockton also earned praise for its community involvement after the Joplin tornado last year. For three days in October, 140 Lockton employees went to Joplin to help rebuild two homes, fix a playground and handle other cleanup.
