INSURANCE BROKERS LOOK TO DIVERSIFY AND GROW
The Financial Times, one of the world's leading business publications, recently published a feature story on the challenges of insurance brokers.
Writer Paul Davies outlines the challenges of insurance brokers and how some-including Lockton-are investing to serve a broader set of industry and corporate needs that just the negotiation and placement of insurance policies.
Julian James, chief executive of Lockton's international operations, told Davies that brokers also need to consider new risks, for example nanotechnology or more frequent earthquakes.
"We need to respond to these new risks, developing products and working with clients to understand how they can respond," he says.
"For the industry, the biggest challenge is attracting the intellectual capital, getting our share of the talent coming into the markets."
Lockton has focused in recent years on attracting more top talent into its business development and client service teams around the world.
